The lowest point was Tunghai. Four years later, it was the highest.

ABOUT ME

About Me

I'm an IC verification engineer, working on AI silicon overseas.

I started as a high school dropout at a private university, Tunghai EE. Along the way I was admitted to USC, Purdue and UCSD, then sent 80–100 internship applications in the US and got 0 interviews. I detoured back to Taiwan for a DV internship, and only landed Silicon Valley on the second run. I have been through a company shutting down; I'm at the second one now.

I have walked this road end to end — and I'm still on it. Not someone who finished, left, and came back to teach.

The full story is on the homepage timeline, each step with evidence. This page covers the one thing written nowhere else — who I can help, and who I can't.

STRAIGHT UP

Where I can help

  • You're not from a name-brand school, your grades are strong, and the school name still holds you back
  • You're already admitted, and just found out the job hunt is a separate fight
  • Your applications get no reply and you can't tell which stage is failing
  • You want overseas IC work but don't know what order to do things in

Where I can't

  • You want a guaranteed admission or a guaranteed offer — nobody can do that, and anyone who says otherwise is worth doubting
  • You want me to write your SOP or resume. I'll work through drafts with you, but the words have to be yours
  • You're aiming at pure IC design, analog or firmware. I haven't walked those, so anything I said would be guesswork
  • You're not ready to act yet and just want reassurance. I'm not good at that conversation..

If you're in the left column, the 30-second read will tell you which stage you're stuck at.

Now, and what's next

  • Short-term: get to Senior in IC verification — keep stacking hard skills.
  • Long-term: keep consulting — because what I love most is helping low-background people reach their own American dream too.
